What a year, yet again. It started with intense lobbying and a federal budget that delighted FAME and its members. It ended with a COVID-19 wave of unimagined, unexpected magnitude. The Omicron variant hit hard and unsettled many promoters who feared having to cancel all or most of their activities for a third consecutive year. They were also afraid of having to continue an already lengthy battle for the survival of their organizations, navigating through government programs and complex public health regulations.
